WeBuyBooks Donates Books to Support Local School Library

We are proud to announce the start of our new partnership with Colne Park High School. This new partnership has allowed us to provide fresh reading materials to the school’s library to help their students explore and experience the joys of literature.

In a time where the financial climate is making it hard for educational bodies to get the funding they need; Colne Park High School has not been spared its share of pressures. Like thousands of schools across the UK, the Colne Park school library has been one of the departments that has suffered the most. It's because of cases like this that WeBuyBooks, over the last 3 years, has been building an initiative to support local schools by providing fresh reading material to restock and replenish old school library books.

In June of 2024, Colne Park High School became the newest member of the WeBuyBooks School Library Donation Programme. So, in the early afternoon of June the 4th 2024 we loaded up the van with just over 2500 books and set off for Colne. When we arrived at the school, we were greeted by the school’s team of enthusiastic ‘reading ambassadors’ along with their dedicated librarian Miss Barker. The new books were quickly incorporated into the library's existing collection, soon to be put to good use.

Miss Barker commented: "The books that we have received from WeBuyBooks.co.uk are amazing! We just want to say a massive thank you for the incredible book donation! We were overwhelmed with the number of books; our students will benefit from these!"

As a business that believes in the power of reading and its importance as an educational tool, especially in younger years, we are keen to explore new ways to support and give back to our local communities. We are proud to have been able to show our support for Colne Park High School and we hope we can continue to provide a helping hand going forward.

Mrs. Eulert, Head Teacher, added: "We believe that every child has talents and strengths and that they can experience success as they develop into young adults through the supportive and caring environment we provide. These books will help immensely in assisting us to reach our goals. School libraries are facing unprecedented pressures in the current economic climate, so by partnering with this local business, we can help keep our children reading."

It's thanks to the support we receive from the loyal customers of WeBuyBooks and the books they have sold through the app and website that we can provide these donations to schools in our area. As we continue to grow as a business our efforts to support local schools by delivering much-needed reading material will also continue.

Every year, as World Book Day rolls around WeBuyBooks hits the road on a mission to help provide reading materials to thousands of children in our local area. If you are looking to show your support for a good cause, you have the option of donating the money you make from selling your books to one of our charity partners. Donating is easy, just select donation as your payment option and choose from one of the listed charities, then, once you have completed your offer, the money you make will be sent straight to the charity of your choice.
