Spending more time at home means people have more items coming into the house and less leaving, so people are having clear-outs and decluttering more often than they would usually.
Since we went into lockdown last March, charity shops received unwanted goods to the point where they couldn’t accept them anymore. Unfortunately, this isn’t particularly useful if you’ve piled up your unwanted books and driven them to your local shop.
But you can dispose of your unwanted books and remain charitable by selling them to We Buy Books.
The idea is that you sell your books to us and use the money to donate to your chosen charity. That way, you can:
Sound worthwhile? Here’s how to do it.
Before you sell your books, you’ll want to get a cash price for them. There are two ways you can do this by using our website or mobile app. If you use our website, you’ll go to your selling basket and enter your ISBNs into the price generator. If you use our app, you can scan your items for a quicker checkout.
If you’re happy with our offer, you can accept it and progress with the rest of your sale. You’ll need to find something to pack your items into, such as cardboard boxes. And once you’ve packed your items you can download your postage label and stick it to your boxed items.
We don’t charge you to send you items; we’ll do it for free! All you need to do is find a drop-off point and take your books there or use our collection service, and we’ll get them from your door.
Once we’ve received your books, we’ll check them to ensure they meet our item condition guidelines and pay you the next day. We can pay you via bank transfer, PayPal, or cheque.
Once you’ve received your payment, you can donate it to the charity of your choice! And if you have any more books, you can reuse the service and keep contributing.
If you’re using WeBuyBooks for the first time, we’ll top-up your order value with an extra 10% so that you can give that little bit extra to your charity. Simply download our app to get 10% extra.
