Where Can You Get Cardboard Boxes?

You Can Order Cardboard Boxes Online

You can order cardboard boxes online

Thankfully, you can buy almost anything online nowadays, and boxes are no exception! Plenty of companies sell packaging materials that can be delivered to your door the next day. A quick Google search will bring up an array of options, but here are a few businesses that offer fast delivery, low prices and boxes in a variety of sizes.

Or Ask at Your Local Supermarket!

Most big supermarkets will give away cardboard boxes that are varied in size, all you need to do is ask. Recycling boxes this way is great for the environment and it’s free! Why not pick some up during your next big shop?

You May Already Have a Box at Home

You may already have a box at home

You will likely have a few cardboard boxes lying around the house. Instead of spending money on new boxes, why not re-use the ones you have? It’s easier, cheaper and better for the environment!

Here are some boxes that you are likely to have around the house that could be used to carry your books:

  • Beer crates
  • Cereal boxes
  • Shoe boxes
  • A nappy box
  • Amazon delivery boxes

Any box that is sturdy with flat edges will do the trick! If your box doesn’t have flat edges, it could roll around the conveyor and end up lost. So, be sure to consider the journey your items go through when choosing which box to use.

If You’ve Already Got a Box Consider Resizing It

If you’ve already got a box, you might consider resizing it...

The only issue you might have is your boxes being the right size for your books. Extra space in a box increases the chance of your books moving around on their journey to us. This could lead to them getting damaged – and no one wants that!

If you already have plenty of cardboard boxes at home, but they’re not the right size, we may have a solution for you. This guide will show you how to make a big box smaller and will work with boxes of all sizes.

You will need:

  • Your cardboard box
  • Scissors or a sharp knife
  • A blunt knife
  • A ruler

1. Decide Your New Size

It’s important to measure exactly how much smaller you want your new box to be.

Flatten your large cardboard box and decide how much you want to take off using your ruler to measure. Then using your scissors cut down each corner, making sure all 4 depths are the same length.

2. Create Creases

Using a blunt knife create a crease on the inside of the box from corner to corner at the level you have cut to. Be careful not to apply too much pressure and tear the box!

3. Get Folding

Simply fold all 4 sides of your box in, made easy by the creases created in the previous step. Repeat this on both sides and trim off any extra cardboard if you are unable to close your box.

And done – it really is that simple!

This handy trick will save you money by reusing boxes you previously thought were too big!

Using one of the options above, you should be able to get hold of a box that’s perfect in size for your unwanted books! Discover how easy it is to sell your books to us here.
