The Best Game of Thrones Characters: Voted by You

WBB GoT header.png

The last Game of Thrones episode aired in 2019, but the buzz is still amongst us, especially with the arrival of House of the Dragon and of course the never-ending wait for the final instalment of the book series.

Game of Thrones is one of the most popular book series that our customers sell to WeBuyBooks, it is quite possibly one of the most recognisable TV shows, and there are some pretty unforgettable characters. Over five years on and these are the characters that remain the favourites in the WeBuyBooks community (spoilers ahead…).

10. Samwell Tarly

Sam Tarley.png

Samwell Tarly is a kind-hearted and intelligent member of the Night’s Watch; Sam is initially overlooked for his lack of combat skills but proves his worth through his knowledge and loyalty. Towards the end of the series, despite being the first to kill a White Walker, Sam puts down his sword and becomes the new Grand Maester.

9. Eddard “Ned” Stark

Ned Stark.png

Ned Stark is the honourable and steadfast patriarch of House Stark, Ned finds himself caught up in the political agendas of the Seven Kingdoms after being appointed Hand of the King, a job role that doesn’t have a very good track record of seeing people into retirement…

8. Brienne of Tarth

Brienne of Tarth.png

Brienne of Tarth is fiercely loyal and a highly skilled warrior. Once a vow has been made, Brienne stops at nothing to ensure that her promise is fulfilled, she is determined to protect those in need, earning her the nickname “Brienne the Beauty”.

7. Cersei Lannister

Cersei Lannister is the cunning and manipulative queen regent of the Seven Kingdoms, Cersei is willing to do whatever it takes to maintain her grip on power and protect her children, no matter how much shame she brings to the family.

6. Bronn of Blackwater

It was hard to find a PG quote from the man who speaks his mind. Bronn of Blackwater is a skilled and pragmatic sellsword, Bronn is known for his wit, combat precision, and loyalty (to the highest bidder).

5. Sansa Stark

Sansa begins the series as the naïve and innocent eldest Stark sister, she evolves into a resilient player in the game of thrones, navigating the dangerous political landscape of Westeros.

4. Arya Stark

Arya is feisty and independent, she defies all societal expectations for women and trains to become a skilled assassin, tracking down the names on her list for revenge on those who wronged her family.

3. Daenerys Targaryen

Daenerys Targaryen.png

A determined and passionate leader, Daenerys rises from exile to reclaim her family’s throne, earning the loyalty of followers and the title “Mother of Dragons”. Not much stands in her way of the throne, and if they do, the situation gets a little too hot to handle.

2. Tyrion Lannister

A witty and intelligent member of the Lannister household, who fights with his intelligence rather than the brute strength of his older brother. Tyrion uses his sharp mind and cunning to survive the treacherous politics of King’s Landing, often underestimated due to his physical stature.

1. Jon Snow

The bastard son of Eddard Stark, Jon rises through the ranks of the Night’s Watch to become its Lord Commander, grappling with questions of honour, duty, and his true parentage amidst the looming threat of the White Walkers. His resilience in the face of death (literally) and determination to protect his family and friends is probably what makes Jon your most loved Game of Thrones character.
