A New Year – A New You!

A New Year – A New You!

A New Year, A New You!

Are you fed up of all the big named books being advertised everywhere you go? Turning into movies and ruining the book for you? Or even changing the ending all together? Very frustrating if you ask me! My Sister’s Keeper, for example, written by Jodi Picoult. In the book, the healthy sister dies in a horrific car crash. In the movie, the ill sister dies. So, yes, I’m fed up! Are you? Do you want to read a brand new author? I know your answer, its yes. It has to be, I’m a mind reader you see, and Derren Brown is one of my closest friends! He’s not really, but I like to think that just got your attention! There are three easy steps to do so.

So, you’ve done the first step, admitting you want something new in your life, a new book, a new author, maybe a new you?
The second step, the book. It is called ‘The Lost Girl’ by Sangu Mandanna which leaves lots to your imagination. What could it be about? Why is she lost? Where is the poor girl? I don’t know about you, but I have a sudden urge to go and help the poor lass. I guess you’ll have to buy the book to find out why the girl is lost for yourself. I don’t want to be a spoil sport and ruin the plot for you. Ok, ok, here’s a little sneak peak for you. The Lost Girl is a novel about death and love and the tie that binds the two together – a girl, and a copy of that girl; it’s a story about death and echoes and impossible, reckless love. I can however, tell you a bit more about Sangu Mandanna. Or Guey as I like to call her.

Guey, is one of my best friends, we met whilst studying together at university. She was four years old when she was chased by an elephant, in her home country of India and wrote her first story about it, deciding that this was what she wanted to do with her life. She now lives in England with her husband Steve and they have just had their first child. (Baby Jemmy, so cute!) The book will be out in sometime in 2012 and is published by Balzer + Bray/HarperCollins Children’s Books in the US. She is represented by Melissa Sarver of the Elizabeth Kaplan Literary Agency.

The third step. Ok, so you’ve read it. Now what? Do you leave it on the shelf with the tens of other books you have to get dusty? Do you pass it on to a friend for them to do the exact same thing? Or do you sell your book via www.webuybooks.co.uk and earn some money? YES! On this website you type in the ISBN of the books you want to sell and indicate their condition. They will then let you know how much they are going to pay for your books. Print off a postage label, box up your books and post them for FREE! Once they have received your books they will then pay the funds into your account based on your preferred payment method.

Sorted! Boom! Yeaahhh! Drinks on you!
